Another Regatta Along the Schuykill!

The day started out kind of drizzy but by early afternoon the sun was shining and the river was absolutely beautiful which really only added to the pleasure of watching the kids from OJR out racing in crew.

Back when I was a kid my folks weren’t into extra-curricular activities and I’m pretty sure they weren’t alone.  It wasn’t the thing to do.  These days however you tend to hear parents bemoaning their inability to remember all their kids scheduled activities.  But it’s so darn nice to get introduced to a new sport or a new activity because you have a young participant who is really excited to be a part of it.  It’s a wonderful experience!

I’m very lucky that my kids have all had an interest in doing things beyond school work.  Whether it is plays, or musicals,  or tennis, or color guard, or band, or crew it’s a lot of fun.

Don’t miss it if you get the chance!  Support a young person.  Sure, reading and writing and arithmetic are terribly important but sports and music and art make such an impact in kids lives.

love,

a bone tired, but happy mom
