Did you ever see those trees that have pointy leaves that line the highway?
I always wondered what they were, whether they were a good tree or not, and I also wondered if it was only my imagination or did they stink?
Well, it turns out that they are the Ailanthus Altissima and they are all over our highways, they once were thought of as a good tree, but now folks aren’t quite so sure because they overpopulate areas by killing all of the other trees in the area. And they do in fact stink which is what led to their unofficial name of “stinking sumac”.
It sounds like they have some medicinal properties, but they also are wonderful at sucking up things like auto exhaust.
