I just read a surprising fact over at the Times Leader in PA. It seems that Germans have to pay up to 9 percent of their income tax to their chosen church. In other words, if you are registered as Catholic, part of your income tax will go to the Catholic church.
In that country churches make much more through taxation than they do through private donations.
And people seem to be finding ways to save on their tax bill by dropping church affiliations.
Can you imagine paying 72 dollars a month as a single person to be a member of your church? Do you think Germany has it right? Or wrong?
